What does Speedy.uk.net do?

We provide home computer users with a simple, effective way to publish their own web sites. Specifically, we offer the following:

• Web space (basic of 25MB, more available with upgrades)
• Domain names under .co.uk (more top level domains to come) for use with your Speedy.uk.net web space
• Email accounts for your new domain names (at least one, more available with upgrades)
• Online webmail, or support for Email clients such as Microsoft Outlook (POP3)

We offer a 30 day free trial for the webspace for you to test out how well our web hosting will fit your needs. You can then upgrade to our Starter or Power hosting packages when you'll get your own domain name (www.your_name.co.uk rather than www.your_name.speedy.uk.net).

Speedy.uk.net is designed to be as easy and quick to use as possible, requiring no specific web skills from you the user. Our servers are designed to be as easy to use as possible and on our Support pages there are easy to follow guides which talk you through the steps of using your webspace, your email, and how to set them up.

Together with Serif WebPlus9, you can build and publish your web site all from one easy to use environment.

What do we not provide?

The Starter and Power hosting options do not provide:

• Internet access
• Sending mail (SMTP) - you can't send mail through Speedy as your ISP will block access as an antispam security measure. You already have SMTP provided by your Internet provider
• Server side scripting/programming - no PHP, ASP, databases.

We are able to provide all this and more through our Business hosting package. If you choose to sign up for this we'll contact you and arrange exactly the high level of service you require.

Free Trial

Includes...

• 25MB webspace at www.username.speedy.uk.net
• Your own control panel to manage your account, the Speedy Portal. Access this via the "Registered Users Login" link at the top of the page.

Starter Hosting

Including all features of the Free Trial as well as...

• 25MB email account
• Choice of .co.uk domain name
• Single mailbox at your chosen domain
• Ability to view your email from a web page

Power Hosting

Includes all features of Starter Hosting as well as...

• 5 mailboxes at your chosen domain
• Ability to forward email to other accounts
• Ability to set holiday auto-respond emails

Business Hosting

Includes all features of Power Hosting as well as...

• Better website performance
• 15 mailboxes at your chosen domain(s)
• SMTP feed for people with their own mail server
• Scripting Support (PHP/PERL/ASP)
• Database support
• Website Stats Included
• Dialup Account

Upgrades

You can upgrade each hosting package with extra domains and extra mailboxes at any time. If you're intending to expand your website (e.g. giving each member of the family an email address), we recommend you start with the Power Hosting package as this provides the best initial support for a larger site. For a basic website for the home user, Starter hosting provides everything you need.
